FAQ's AT B STREET YOGA
HAVE QUESTIONS? WE HAVE ANSWERS
If you’re curious about our approach or how to prepare for your yoga or fitness class, read below. Chances are, we’ve got it covered!
What is the best class for a new student?
- Vinyasa (All Levels): Perfect for beginners! This class provides clear instruction and modifications to meet you where you are.
- Yoga Sculpt: A more dynamic option, blending yoga and strength training, ideal for those with some fitness experience.
- Yin Yoga: Looking to de-stress? This class focuses on relaxation and gentle stretching—great for anyone new to yoga or seeking a slower pace.
Check out our Class Descriptions to learn more.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Think leggings, yoga pants, or shorts paired with a fitted top to prevent excess fabric from getting in your way during poses.
What should I bring?
- Required: Your yoga mat, a towel, and water.
- Optional: A small hand towel for our more dynamic classes where you’ll likely break a sweat.
Forgot something? Mat rentals are available for $3, and we have a selection of mats and other accessories for purchase.
How early should I arrive?
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early for your first class. This allows time for check-in, setting up, and meeting your instructor.
Do you allow late arrivals?
We prefer you to be on the mat before class begins to ensure a focused and uninterrupted experience for everyone. We also understand life happens, so if you’re a minute or two late please come in quietly and join the class.
What if I’m not flexible?
Yoga is for everyone, regardless of flexibility. Flexibility is a result of yoga, not a prerequisite! Our instructors will provide modifications to help you ease into each pose at your own pace.
Are your classes heated?
Our classes are not heated like hot yoga classes which can be over 100 degrees. We do occasionally use our HVAC system to ensure the room is warm 80-88 degrees. We focus on building internal heat through movement and breath, so you’ll still get an invigorating workout.
STUDIO POLICIES
- ARRIVE ON TIME:
The studio opens 15 minutes before class and doors lock once class begins. - STAY FOR THE ENTIRE CLASS:
Savasana (final relaxation) is a key part of the practice. Leaving early can be really disrupting to the class. If you must leave early, let your instructor know before class starts and set up near the door to minimize disruption. - RESPECT THE ENERGY OF THE CLASS:
Modifications are welcome, but please follow the instructor’s guidance to maintain the flow and energy of the group. - UNPLUG:
No cell phones in class. This is your time to disconnect and focus inward. - HYDRATE:
Drink plenty of water before and after class. A water refill station is located in the studio lobby. - LISTEN TO YOUR BODY:
Avoid eating heavy meals at least 2 hours before class. Take breaks and honor how you feel. - SCENT-FREE ZONE:
Please avoid wearing strong perfumes or lotions as they can be distracting or cause sensitivities. - CLEAN UP AFTER CLASS:
Wipe down any sweat around your mat for the safety and comfort of others. - JOIN THE COMMUNITY:
We encourage you to attend your second class within 48 hours to keep the momentum going.
WE CAN’T WAIT TO WELCOME YOU TO B STREET YOGA!
